Gilding At Arbour Hill military Church
On inspection, these stations were actually plaster molded and painted to look like oak. Unfortunately, the gilded areas had been varnished and sometimes even stained several times down through the years, thus killing the natural lustre of the gold. 22ct gold leaf was oil gilded to the various picked out areas including the lettering.
